Reveal Integrated Onboarding

Reveal is a fleet management software that helps businesses Track vehicles in the field, improve fleet operations, increase worker productivity and encourage safer driving with Verizon Connect fleet management solutions. Choose from a range of customizable GPS tracking solutions that offer dashboards, reports and alerts.

I oversaw UX Design for an initiative to streamline onboarding for a product with numerous features that caters to a diverse set of business customers and uses.

The Problem

The current onboarding includes a hardware and software component that must be configured, as well as add-on features that require their own onboarding procedure. The platform allows various business roles to access their company's account to perform various job functions, but there is only one high-level walkthrough, which means that once the first user completes onboarding, new users will not be able to go through that walkthrough again.

This all-encompassing approach to onboarding frequently places users in features that are unrelated to their job functions, making it difficult for customers to achieve "core use."

The Solution

Each new user receives their own onboarding sequence based on their core use cases, which guides them directly into features related to their job functions, allowing users to reach their individual “ah-ha” moments faster and potentially improving retention (reducing churn).
